about Me

I have a lifelong passion toward well-being. I graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a degree in Human Nutrition. Upon graduation, I have completed Pilates teaching certification through the comprehensive global format program of the BASI Pilates. I have been deeply influenced by the teaching of Joseph Pilates and inspired to learn the exercise in its authentic form. Currently, I am a level 2 apprentice at the Pilates Center of San Francisco which is known for its dedication to preserve Pilates in its original form. I am privileged to be a part of the group that is a direct lineage of teachers trained by Joseph Pilates.

My goal is to help you achieve the balance of body, mind, and spirit through Pilates. Pilates aims to improve not only the physical strength but also mental vigor. One of my favorite principle of Pilates is concentration which helps you develop the natural rhythm which brings complete harmony of your body and mind.

Pilates has something to offer for everyone.

METHOD

I am trained in the classical Pilates by Martt Lawrence and Dorothee VandeWalle. Following is quoted from Metropolitan Pilates.

"Dorothee VandeWalle is recognized as one of the leading teacher trainers and Pilates practitioners in the world. Dorothee teaches in the tradition of the classical Pilates method. She was the protégé of Romana Kryzanowska—who herself was the protégé of Joseph Pilates—and started teaching with Romana at Drago's Gym in 1987. "
